Travis Jeffrey Dean
February 01, 1992, Williamstown, Victoria
Right hand Bat
A level-headed opening batsman, Travis Dean created history in October 2015 when he became the first man to score a century in each innings of his Sheffield Shield debut. He was also just the second Australian after Arthur Morris to score a hundred in each innings of his first-class debut; Morris' feat was not achieved in a Shield game. Dean had been picked for the match against Queensland ahead of Australia's T20 captain Aaron Finch, and his selection came after a string of hundreds in the Futures League competition. Dean had won a Cricket Victoria contract in 2015, at which time he was working as an apprentice greenskeeper at Werribee Park Golf Club in Melbourne's western suburbs.
